Combined with my Proxxen longneck angle grinder with the tiny chain-saw attachment, this 2" 150 grit flap sander does an amazing job in trimming the hooves of horses. While I will alway keep and use my traditional farriers nippers and rasp, the Proxxen longneck grinder is simple, easily controllable and powerful in the removal of excess hoof horn and for those very difficult chronic laminitis jobs where the horse's hoof is way overgrown, thick, and the horse too sore to hold a foot up very long. The flap sander attachment is for the final smoothing and abrasion needed to replicate nature's own abrasive action in the horse's natural desert environment. I have helped save this lives of some very sick horses with some very bad feet with this tool.
